It was a pleasure planning and celebrating a recent milestone birthday at Metro Galleries.  The venue was my automatic first choice because it is a classy, roomy location with a hip upscale vibe.  Aside from the obvious appeal to my personal sensibilities as an artist, there is a cosmopolitan and yet comfortable feel to the place.  It can be completely dressed up or casual.  Don Martin has only the highest expectations for his gallery events, staff and vendors, so I knew there would be no mistakes.  He offered me great contacts in catering, bartending, floral and live music.  Don is a visionary and offered ideas early on to customize my event to make it my own.  I was and am proud to bring out of town guests to the Metro Galleries.

Thank you for bringing to Bakersfield such a beautiful gallery. When Shad and I first started looking for a nice venue for the wedding we had a really hard time finding something that we felt truly expressed the unique couple that we pride ourselves on being. We looked at so many places, and nothing felt right until we walked into the Metro. We walked out after our first meeting knowing that was the place. What we didn’t know was how beautiful it would really turned out to be. We were able to keep the decorations minimal and still it was absolutely gorgeous. The compliments from our guests were endless. They loved the look and feel of the Metro, and also enjoyed the art on display.

It’s not easy to find someone as compassionate as Don Martin, when it comes to hosting an event for small, local nonprofit organizations. Most recently I’ve worked with him on hosting an upscale, art auction for the Bakersfield’s AIDS Project. With no cost to the organization Don provided his gallery, equipment and continuous support to an organization, most other business wouldn’t have supported. It’s always a pleasure to work with Don and be welcomed at Metro Galleries.
